How can I purchase an ibook on my mac 10.9.5 and read it on my iPad iOS 8?

Open iTunes on your Mac and click on Books to open the iTunes Store for Books
Select the book you want to purchase and purchase it
Once the book has downloaded to your Mac successfully, go to your iPad and open iBooks
Make sure that you are looking in the Library view and that the option to "Hide iCloud Books" is not on
You should see the book you just purchased with a little Cloud icon in the upper right-hand corner of the book
Click on the cloud icon to download it to your iPad
