MBPro can't see printer via FIOS router on my iMac

My wife has MBPro in other room--I have iMac27 --both get email via Wi-Fi from FIOS router--running Yosemite on both--MBPro cannot see 2 printers hard wired to iMac27--have deleted printer in SysPrefs>Printers on both systems--have "reset printers" on MBP--

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Having been Apple user since 1992 I had the "sharing printer selected---what finally worked was to remove sharing on both systems and restarting and selecting it again on iMac27 with MBPro sitting beside iMac27--sftwe finally recognized both hard wired printers--Thanks
