You don't need to do anything special to import that data. To see it in Photos > View > Metadata > check Titles.
Note, however, that this option is for Title, not Name of image.

Thank you, but that doesn't work perhaps because I don't know the difference between Titles and Name of Image. What is the name of the writing I put as label for the photo?
Title is generally the label added by user. Name is generally the number assigned by the camera (i.e., IMG_1529.jpg).
iPhoto was smart enough that when there was no Title, it displayed the Name. But, I guess, not smart enough to make the difference clearly known to users, so many ended up using the Name tag incorrectly.
To check which one you used, select an image in Photos, right-click on it and choose Get Info. You'll see a floating window with all the image tags for that photo.
At this point, you could give Apple more time to fix this (let them know here Apple Feedback pages, or directly for Photos here). Or use the script referenced below to transcribe Name to Title field.
By léonie: Create an Automator action, that executes an Apple Script to change the titles to the filename, if the title is empty - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-8414
Thank you for such prompt response. Your suggestions will be tried but maybe not immediately because of other factors. I've printed your reply. Have a nice day.
