Already-activated iPad prompting for activation.

My wife's iPad just prompted her to activate it, although it has been activated for more than 7 months. It has been activated for months. It said it was already registered to someone with the Apple ID [first initial of my wife's apple id]****[end of my wife's Apple ID]--i.e., hers. No idea why it would do this. I was reluctant to put in a password in case it was some kind of malware. Ultimately we put the password in and it worked fine.

But why should it suddenly prompt us to do this?

Model is "Apple iPad Air 2" MH312LL/A

iOS is 8.3 (12F69)

iPad Air, iOS 8.3, Actually my wife's

Hi Sometimes you get checks from Apple serves don't think its anything to worry about I have had one before. Cheers Brian

I get random sign into iCloud popup messages on my devices on occasion. You have not been hacked or downloaded any malware. I would not worry about it. I agree with Brian on this. I think that you are OK.

The Activation message was probably just a fluke.

Generally, you don't need to worry about malware on Apple devices.
