How can I upgrade my apple tv 2nd generation to 3rd generation?

I have an apple tv 2nd generation, software 6.2.1, and I can`t get youtube anymore. Someone told me I have to upgrade to the 3rd generation, because the new

youtube app only works on that, but I don`t know, what I must do. Is it possible to upgrade from 2nd generation to the 3rd?

AppleTV 2, iOS 6.1

And the third generation ATV is now only $69. Apple recently lowered the price. Some think because a 4th generation ATV will be announced in June.
