I have problem emptying my Trash bin. Clicking "Empty Trash" directs to a dialogue box asking "Secure Empty Trash" and leads to another dialogue box with 3 options. After I chose "Remove all Items". It shows I have >1600 items but nothing happened after clicking "Remove All Items".
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
Relaunch the Finder, then from the Finder menu bar, select
Finder ▹ Preferences... ▹ Advanced
and uncheck the box marked
Empty Trash securely
Try again to empty the Trash.
