I've finished editing my video on FCP 10, and I've exported it as a master file. However I can't view it via quicktime - it says it's "converting file" and then says that the file can't be opened and tells me to check for other applications. What should I do?
Final Cut Pro X, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
WWhich version are you using?
EXactly when ch option in master file did you select?
HOw large is the file?
WHere did you save it?
Version 10.0.8, the default settings for master file:
The file is 2.33 GB
TThe file is too small. It's incomplete. Where did you export it to? An external drive? How is it formatted?
Ohh? I exported it to just my "movies" folder, it's a .mov file right now
SSomething's not right. Twelve minutes of 1080 ProRes should be a lot bigger than 2.23GB. Try exporting it again to your desktop and make sure the export is complete in the background task HUD.
I think that's what went wrong 🙂 The file was still exporting; it's been a while so I forgot to check the background taskbar.

I do not understand it says clearly that the movie is 14 GB. Do you mean that you only get 2.23 GB when finished sharing ?
