Can't import photos into 'Photos'

Hello all,

I was importing my photos from my iPhone 5s onto my new mac(2015 13inch pro w/retina) I got a call half way through the import. Finished the call and the import was stuck so I disconnected my iPhone and reconnected it and now I can't upload the outstanding photos. I have attached a picture that explains my problem, the import buttons are hollowed out(even when I select an item).
