I can't remove a partition on my 2011 MBP with Yosemite

I recently upgrade Yosemite on a 2011 MBP using a second partition. Now I want to remove that partition and when I go into Disk Utility (and click on the partition and hit the - key), nothing happens. It goes thru the prompts to remove the partition, but nothing happens,

Anyone else have this issue (and a solution)?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

You need to boot to your other system on the first partition in order to remove the second partition. Although, it sounds like Yosemite has converted your drive's management scheme from HFS+ to CoreStorage. If that be the case then you cannot use Disk Utility to remove the second partition. You would need to use the Terminal commands for CoreStorage in the diskutil command.
