My MacBook Pro 15-inch from 2008 needs a new battery. Unfortunately Apple no longer services it. How do I get a new battery at this point?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Most likely you will need to find a third party battery.

Did a quick check through Amazon, they have some there. Though the quality might not be up to par, might be better than nothing at this point.

The only third party batteries that I can recommend are from OWC:

They come with a 1 year warranty.

Beware of bargains. Some last a month, week, day or don't work at all. These forums are full of tales of woe with cheap batteries.
