how do I download my photos to I clud when phone is broken

I broke my iPhone 5. The screen doesn't allow me to unlock my device. So, I bought an iPhone6. However, I cannot get my photos from my old phone. The last back up to I cloud was 2014 and I have a ton of pictures I need to get off this phone. Please Help!!!! Thanks so much..:)
