ipad mini purchased for me and set up. i have now erased but do not know the iCloud details that were used to set up at start. what can i do??

my iPad mini was purchased and set up for me some time ago. i have now erased and wish to connect to my iCloud account. i am being asked to log in to the iCloud account details that the iPad was originally started and is in fact still connected to. i don't have these details. what can i do please?

You are going to have to find out what the original details were for setting it up. Otherwise you will not be able to activate the device. Contact who originally set it up. The alternative is if you were the only owner and have proof of purchase, you can bring that to a physical Apple store and see if they can help.
