Why does coverart not change when iTunes plays library?

Hi. I use iTunes newest version on a Windows 7 PC.

When having iTunes open and play one of my playlists, lets say the view in the list is "album" (upper right corner I can choose to view those small cover overview), and play a song with the big coverart (and more infos) to this song as dropdown open:

The song is over, the next song starts, but the dropdown and coverart stays to the old song.

And if it´s not working with the coverart dropdown, not even the overview scrolls to the next played song.

Is this a bug or feature?
