Horizontal Line on Macbook Screen

Hello,

I have recently noticed a thin, horizontal line across the middle of my retina Macbook Pro display. At first glance , it looks like a smudge, but upon further inspection, I see that it is permanent and will not come off. It's definitely not a problem with the display backlight/pixels, as I can still see it when the display is turned off, however, it's too thick to be a scratch. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this? If so, is there any way to fix it?

Wow! My early 2015 Mac Book Pro Retina has the same issue. I called Apple and they asked me to bring it to local store to check. The local store concluded that was my fault. I doubt that. The line matches with the edge of the keyboard position. It would be a design flaw.

Did you manage to get them fix it for you?

Could be a scratch on the glass cover protecting the display. To see it that is what is on it, you would have to look at it from different angles in a well lit room or use a flashlight. While the computer is off.

The 'fix' is probably a replacement of the display. Bring the MBP in for a FREE evaluation at an Apple store genius bar.

No. I was commenting to Mathew098. Because looking at the pic it looks like a scratch on the glass cover. But it could also be a line of dirt or dust between the glass and the LCD.

Mine is a retina MBP. As I am reading so far, there is no glass in front of the LCD. Is that right?
