Bluetooth Speaker does not show in speaker options

HI

I am using Mac Air with OS X 10.10.2 and want to connect my JBL Charge - bluetooth speaker. The speaker pairs and connects but when I play music there is no sound ! I have tried the following :

1. Checked in preferences > sound > output .. JBL charge is not shown.. only internal speaker option is available

2. Reset the PRAM by pressing keys (command+option+p+r) after shutdown and restarted

I have the same problem with headphones but the work around i found was that I plug the headphones, shut the lid, open it and music comes from the headphones!!

Would appreciate some help on this
