Firefox timing out on mba

Hi all,

Firefox loads a site and while I'm working on that site (usually sending info which requires the site to load) Firefox will time out ("secure connection lost").

Working on a 2015 MBA 10.10.3, Firefox version 38.0.1. Firefox tells me the updates are current. I tried downloading a new Firefox version, but it kept pausing on the download.

Not sure this is related issue, but I tried posting this query on Firefox and I got a pop up message that said (you can't add to this content) when I checked the "community post" below.

Thoughts? Fixes?
