Cracked and damaged screen on iPhone 6 plus. Cost of repair or recommendations?

Dropped my iPhone 6 plus. Screen is cracked extensively and has damaged the screen underneath with a visibly black spot and some vertical lines. Still usable but frustrating and would like to get it fixed.i have heard rumours that Apple fixes/replaces these for around $200 which is a vast differnence to $600 being offered by third party phone repairers. Any info or past experience with this?
