delete genres in iTunes 12

My drop down menu in iTunes has a long list of bizarre genres. None of my current library items is identified with one of these genres. How to get rid of them? I think they may be leftovers from e-books that were migrated to iBooks?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
