I tried to activate my brand new Iphone 5s but every time I tried to activate it it said The Activatingservers are in the moment not reachable. But after 40 times it said: IPHONE IS UNKNOWN. What can I do? Have I done something wrong?

That message usually means the Activation servers have detected an iPhone that has previously been Jail broken or a PC that has been used to Jail Break an iPhone
Where did you buy the "brand new " iPhone

Not an authorised Apple retailer,unless they are actually A1 the carrier you have no idea what has been done to that iPhone before delivery
and shrink wrap is VERY easy to re-apply as I am sure it looked new
If they are A1 take it back to them and let them sort it
Yes in some cases but I bought mine at best store in our country where I bought lot's of Apple devices before!....
selling Apple devices does not make them an iPhone approved reseller
if they are genuine as i have added above just take it to them to sort
