Can I find and replace a whole column of figures ie accounting figures (16.00) to (16.50) without doing it individually.

I am using excel and would like advice on how to do this
Open Excel, Go to the 'Edit' menu, click on 'Replace'
If you want to do the find/replace in only one column, highlight the whole column before you do find/replace all; otherwise, it will do the replace in the other columns, too.

I have done as you said and highlighted the column however a message comes up stating that 'no cell in the selection contains what you typed, or no records match the criteria'
Are you absolutely certain there are cells in that column that have 16.00? And are you replacing 16.00 or 16?
Keep in mind that you may see the value as 16.00 because it's formatted that way, but Excel may be storing the value as 16 instead.
Maybe try replacing 16 with 16.5.
