Iphone 6 will not charge or turn on

Hey guys.

I have had my iphone 6 for 8 months now. Its is in very good condition and was working perfectly up until yesterday. My phone had ran out of battery , and when i went to charge my phone the screen remained black and unresponsive. I have tried holding the wake/sleep button for a while to no prevail, i have also left my phone on charge for a good hour and nothing happened. The screen just remains black at all times.

Does anybody have any idea on what could be wrong and/or any solution?
