It's a 2010 model.
As for the toothpick, if your headphones don't work when you plug them in, it can sometimes help to wiggle a wooden toothpick around in the port. Gets something moving that must get stuck. I hoped it might work the other way around, but it did nothing.

It's a long time to go without being able to listen without disturbing others. :-(
I kinda hoped there'd be a trick like the toothpick that someone might have heard about.
