iphoto will not let me upload photos from my canon g5 camera says wrong format even with raw photos, macbook pro late 2008

when i try to upload photos from my canon g5 camera to iPhoto it says error does not recognize format?

thats with jpeg so i changed my camera settings to raw and tried and i get the same does not recognize format.

i reformatted my camera card and i even tried a different card no help.

it worked fine a few months ago?

i tried opening photos in preview,image capture with the same errors.

it does give me error codes in image capture ill post the codes if it helps?
