Wirelessly connecting MBPro to TV

Hi. I'm a techie idiot and tried googling this but ended up more confused. I run a mobile disco company and we are sometimes required to do karaoke. Is there a way I can wirelessly connect my Macbook Pro to the venue's TV and if so (I suspect it can be done) what tech do I need to buy. Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Hello easyDJ,

That sounds like a really cool business. If you would like to wireless connect your MacBook Pro to an HDTV, then what you want to do is have an Apple TV plugged into the TV. The feature you are looking for is AirPlay and as long as both the MacBook Pro and Apple TV is connected to the same wireless network then it will be able to either extend the desktop or mirror it. Take a look at the links below for more information on using AirPlay and if you want to purchase an Apple TV from Apple.
