I am trying to update my mac updates and for some reason Safari won't update to 7.1.6 Mavericks properly. It says it has installed but going to Safari "About" it shows that it did not install. The updates area also keeps telling me to update it over and over.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 750GB HD, 2.2 GHz, 6 GB RAM
Tried fixing in Safe Mode. Did not work.
Tried disk utilities in original disk... did not work.
Now, not only will it not update but Safari is acting weird. Not starting properly; flashing while openning over and over; not getting on the internet.
I am forced to use chrome right now.
Isn't there a way to uninstall Safari and redownload? Or at least update from a link rather than through the App Store?
Boot into the Recovery Mode and reinstall the OS is about the only way I'm aware of.
Safari 7.1.6 refuses to install. How to fix?
