Dragging music from itunes to finder...

Hi all -

When I select and drag a bunch of music from itunes to finder, it often fails to copy if I select too many files. For example, I may want to copy 400 songs to finder, and it will fail unless I do it in 50 song chunks.

Very rarely it will work. Also, occasionally I will isolate a song that will not copy to finder no matter what.

An ideas? Is there another way to copy the fles from a playlist - perhaps using the shell or applescript?

Any advice apreciated!

The problem is related to the file name.
If you're trying to copy songs which have the same file name, copying fails (no message, nothing).

You won't always be able to find the duplicate names using the 'Show Duplicate' command in iTunes, because the songs can belong to different artists.
If the files names of different songs happens to be the same, copying will fail too.

The copy command is directed to the Finder, but it will not warn you about duplicate file names. It just fails.

Very interesting theory - not sure that this applies to me though...

If I copy the songs in chunks, it seems to work fine, with all the files being successfully copied (the file count matches). I do not get a message asking me if I want to rename or overwrite a file, which I reckon I would if there was a conflict - unless itunes automagically handles this somehow when using this approach.

Thanks ~
