Can't open iTunes with Yosemite. How do i fix this?

Itunes was working fine a few days ago, have the Yosemite OS.

I tried to use iTunes yesterday and nothing happens when i click the icon.

Have downloaded and re-downloaded many time, but still nothing.

Anyone know how i can fix this?

I have already updated Yosemite hoping that would help, but it has not.

Normally you don't have to delete an old application when updating but this time it seems to be necessary for some.
