supposedly you can go into your photos (if it allows you to open them) and send a picture to all the people you sent it to/sent it to you. Should work after that. This is the only fix I have seen.

I Got the samthing but it's basically is just a code that gets to the powering system of ur iPhone and shuts it off and then ur phone comes back on, here is the code that causes it and people like to do this to prank people but this only happens if they have an apple device....User uploaded file

Having the same issue. I wish Apple would tell us what they plan to do to resolve it. Its the same issue they had in iOS 6.

It is a vulnerability in the Arabic code regarding half height characters. There are suppose to be checks to keep this from happening but it is not working, and is causing the phone to crash.

Ok, my daughters come home from school today and ambush me about a half dozen times with this and they think it's pretty funny, haha. Is it a real problem, yes. Now I haven't had the problems other users had as far as freezing up their apps. It just crashed my phone. Most people sending it to you do it as a humorous joke. After researching it have found out it will only work iphone to iphone which means it operates within their system, (anyone following me on this). After another round of my daughters sending me this, I went into settings then messages and turned off imessages. Problem solved. Once they gave up seeing it was no longer affecting my phone they gave up and I turned my imessages back on. Not a permanent solution but it stops the practical joker. Until Apple come up with a software update we are stuck with the temporary fix.

i just got this text yesterday and it crashed my iMessages. I tried everything but this is the way to fix it. step one: see who was the last person to send you the effective power text. Step two: go into notes and type a random thing in a new note page. Step thrwe press the share button at the bottom (the box with a arrow coming out of it) and select imessage. Step four: type in the last person who sent you the effective power text's contact name. Once you have done this you should see the last text sent in the conversation was the effective power. After you send something like hi, or yeah to them it will disable the effective power and you will be able to use iMessage again.

if ur having problems opening ur messages but u know who it is like ur friend sent u that or some number, all u got to do to resolve the issue is send a photo to that person or friend it basically resolves the issue. you dont have to necessarily send a picture of ur self to that person or number just send somthing and then if that friend or number keeps send u that code, right after u send a photo block him/her. This code below is what locks ur iMessages from opening but it won't shut ur off ur iPhone it just prevents u from opening ur messages. It's bascially just the code without saying effective power first.

This happened to my sisters phone today at school. She came home in a panic and was calling me frantically asking for help. We tried everything that people suggested and the only thing that helped was turning it onto airplane mode and deleting all the messages from the people who sent them. Thank you to whoever suggested that!

For me I can open my iMessage and text but when I try to scroll down past a certain spot then The app is killed and exits to the home screen. Am I the only one with this problem or does anyone else have this problem too? And aslo, is there a fix for that or am I just going to have to wait for the new update?
