Is it possible to use a Chinese LTE card in an iPad Air 2 bought in Japan?

Dear all,

I am wondering if there are any technical problems if I want to use a Chinese SIM card (LTE card) in an iPad Air 2 that I bought in Japan?

Is that possible or are the models sold in different countries differently equipped so that it would not work?
