cannot sign into imessage

First off sorry if this thread is up already and/or has been answered multiple times. I have an iphone 4s, and i am already signed in on one of my apple accounts, and i am trying to add a second one on, i do as the steps say and sign into my other account under messages/send&receive, after doing so it says verifying as usual, so i go to my email to verify this, and i did not receive this email, and then go back and click resend and still nothing and i waited awhile and still nothing. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me or redirect me somewhere that could.

Additional information : Iphone 4s, iOS 8.1.3
