i bought this iphone 4s from a friend and she bought it from a completely random and with my friend it was working perfectly when i got it i resetted it and now it has an activation lock? how can i get pass when me or my friend cannot find the owner

i bought it from a friend who bought it from a lady
it worked perfectly with my friend and when i got it i decided to reset it and now it is stuck in activation lock for iclould
me and my friend have tried getting hold of the old owner but her phone is now disconnected so we dont know what to do 😟
please help?
