my numbers file reverted to an earlier version

I use Numbers for my bank account journal. I update it almost daily. Today, when I opened it, it was not showing any of the changes from the last 9 days. In other words, it reverted back to May 16 when I had updated it several time since then. Does iCloud Drive keep versions like Dropbox does? Why would it do this. Internet access was very limited for two days because of a weather disaster but I don't think I tried to update it during that time.
