I'm using an MBP early 2011 (Mountain Lion 10.8.5) and i'm trying to install windows using an external optical drive, when the bootcamp finished partition and restarts, straight away it goes to the blinking cursor, the windows installer didn't even appear. help pls?

On Macs with built-in Optical drives, external Optical drives are not supported for Windows installation? Is your internal SuperDrive functional?
its not functional keeps on ejecting the disc thats why I'm using an external one. is there any other way?
