imac

My imac had a had bump and the black on the screen is now gray line. Can I fix this at home ?

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

That's possibly just a loose video connection cable, but almost always it turns out to be a bad section of pixels. You likely need a new LCD panel. either way it's very difficult to do at home with an iMac. It's only $30-40 for an Apple Store to disassemble it and put it back together if it's just the cable. If it turns out to be the whole display they'll quote you the replacement and you don't usually have to pay anything if you decide against it.
