My daughter was sent a text by friends to shut her phone down. It said "effective. power" and had a bunch of arabic script. Her phone will not turn on/stay on now. It just keeps cycling thru power up and shutting down. Help!!!

Thanks. This article definitely references the issue we are experiencing. Unfortunately her phone won't turn on at all (it turns on & off but never really powers up) so we can't attempt their potential fixes. Her friends however have been able to remedy their issues by doing various things such as holding power & home button for a long time. or just deleting text message that had virus. I can't resolve as of now...
If you can't get back into it by resetting your phone (pressing and holding the Home and power buttons until the apple appears) you may have to restore your phone from your back up using iTunes.
you need to back up and restore to fix the issue at hand.
Went to Apple Store - they had to set up as new phone but all okay now, besides losing pictures & data (wasn't backed up to icloud)!
