i have forgotten my Mini Ipad screen pin

I have forgotten my Mini Ipad Screen lock pin so I'm locked out of my ipad . I did see that I could restore the ipad however I've tried this and it first asks me to turn the Find my ipad app off, which of cause I can not do because I can not get in to do this .. can anyone help ???
