Is this happening for just one application? What happens when you drag it from the Applications folder to the Dock?
First, this happened yesterday without any update or change on my iMac. Before, all was OK.
All application have this problem: I drag the icone from the applications folder or I open the application and check the "keep in dock" option.
I don't understand!
Is this problem known?
Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:
killall Dock
Log out/in and test. If that doesn’t work, you need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Use the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
Then try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
Thank you for your answer.
I am not a specialist and not able to do what you propose because I am not used to work with terminal command.
But I have not found any "Dock" in the Application Support Folder.

Hi,
Try moving the dock .plist. Go to Users/Home folder/Library/Preferences and find com.apple.dock.plist.
Move it to the desktop and restart your computer. If that solves the problem you can trash it.
If not, try this. In the same Users/Home folder/Library/Preferences find com.apple.dock.db and do the same with that.
Thank you for your help.
Finally I have understood all the instructions. The problem seems to be solved.
Excuse me Eric (Root) if I am not used to use the terminal tool.
Thank you all
