why does the spacebar keep disappearing since last update...

While in any browser my ipad2 looses the spacebar while making a query in any search engine. I am NOT on the url line but in the search boxes for any search engine and after only one use I return to make the second and the keypad shows everything but the spacebar. I have to close the browser relaunch it and then the spacebar returns. Any ideas why and I can't be the only one out here with the same issue. Thanx..
