I have been trying to get Pages 4.3 or iwork '09 - Amazon has that, but users comment a serial number must be purchased from Apple. Will I even be able to get this? I need it to use Dragon Dictate. I am a longtime user of Appleworks.

Amazon sells the DVD version of iWork '09 for less than US$20.
It does not require a serial number.
Just make sure you update it to v4.3.
