I am getting a message that my document I was working on yesterday cannot be opened because the volume "No name" cannot be opened. Mount the volume and try opening the document again. Any ideas please?

I am using Logic X and working on a project yesterday. Today I tried to open the document and got the following message.

The document 'smooth Jazz' could not be opened. The voumr "No Name" couldn't be mounted.

Mount the volume and try opening the document again.

Any ideas what went wrong and whether I can recover my document please?

Can only guess at this...

Did you have an external drive or a thumb drive/memory stick plugged in at the time you saved the file? Even though the file may not be saved to that device the available paths were saved?

Also possible that you have drive corruption, do you have plenty of drive space free?

"No Name" is a common default for camera cards. You started using files on a camera card, but didn't copy them to the hard drive, or didn't optimize them. Yeah, FCPX is looking for a camera card.

or in this case.. LPX..... 🙂

...and/or No Name can also refer to a Camera itself.... that was left connected... or some other similar type of device that uses internal storage... (GoPro for example)
