How to convert my purchased mp4 files to mp3?

I am so frustrated with this. I want to play my 10 or so albums I bought from itunes on my android phone but because they are mp4 they won't allow me to move copies that play on my phone nor allow me to convert them to another format, mp3 for example, that would let me do this.

Thanks for any help.

Tim,

If they are recently purchased, they are in AAC format, and will play in most Android devices. Or, if you really need to convert them, follow this guide:

If they are old (before mid-2009) purchases they are "protected" (M4P) files, and cannot be used in non-Apple devices. However, you can use iTunes to burn them to an audio CD, and rip MP3s from the CD.
