Icloud

Okay, so i have just recently purchased an ipod from a friend of mines & the ipod (touch) has a icloud already on it. i want to be rid of the icloud & use my own, but the "find my ipod" thingy is on. so deleting the account was a hassle for me to complete. does anyone know how to do so w/o damaging the software, or putting anything in exposure. i have backed up my photo's, apps, and music to my Macbook. Im really tired of the annoying pop up that asks for the passcode.
