I dropped my iPad 2 yesterday and it is now in recovery mode. I am currently recovering it, but everytime i get to the apple logo and progress bar, it just freezes. The iPad screen shows nothing, whereas the desktop shows that the recovery process is working.

You may not get a lot of help here because your device is JB'n. If you think the recovery is working in iTunes but the device is freezing up, try a forced restart, eject the iPad and hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Yep, I have repeatedly done this process but still it stays on the "waiting for ipad" screen on itunes
Have you tried DFU mode? This is different than recovery mode and from what I have read this works a little better if you want to remove the JB on the device.
I brought the iPad and the previous user had jailbroken it. I want to reset the device the factory settings.
I am unaware of DFU mode and just want to reset tehe device quickly
Then give DFU mode a try.
