I tried to reinstall OSX mavericks through the recovery thing but it asks for an apple id, i put mine in but it says that i don't have mavericks on that account. I cant get mavericks from the app store and i cant get the previous owners apple id and password.
What version of OS X originally shipped on the computer and what version of OS X is currently installed on the machine. Please provide this information otherwise it is difficult at best to help you.
You need to install an older OS and then upgrade. For 10.6.8 or earlier, this is done from a compatible Mac OS X install DVD; for Macs which originally shipped with Lion and above, restart with the Option, Command, and R keys held down.

If the machine came with Mavericks, that would be 10.9.x. The previous version of OS X (10.8.x) was Mountain Lion. Once again, what is the version of OS X currently installed on the computer? If you do not know then click the Apple Symbol in the upper left of the display, then click About this Mac.
