Can't clear "Mixed" information sections

In iTunes 12 When I select multiple tracks that have differing inputs of a certain information such as album artist or comments it shows "mixed." If I click in the field and press delete it no longer shows "mixed" but when I press enter nothing changes. Is there any way around this or do I have to clear this for each song individually?
