cant find icloud and photos have disappeared off ipad

i was doing something with my photos when a question came up ..something like limited space .. go to icloud so i said yes now my photos are gone from my ipad and i cant find Icloud on my device. Yes.. in settings i have icloud and it is signed in buy there is no icon on the main pages anywhere on my ipad or iphone so how do i access it. Please help.
