It is always helpful if one indicates the EXACT model/year MBP that one has and the current OSX.
Have you tried to verify and repair the HDD?
Ciao.
what i did was run the disk utility and run it. it was happened only this morning, since then most of the time the search wheel keep showing and become so slow. pls help not really expert on computer
I still need to know the EXACT model/year MBP and the current OSX.
Ciao.
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
Processor -2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
OS X Yosimite Version10.10.3
I tried couple of times to fix through Utility Desk but it still the same. VLC Player and QT player both has the same issue.
There are two ways to try and run Disk Utility>First Aid:
One is booting the MBP via the recovery partition, COMMAND + R keys on startup.
The other is to use the original Snow Leopard installation disk and selecting UTILITIES from the menu bar, and then Disk Utility>First Aid.
Did you use one if these methods, if so which one?
Ciao.
i did by running the disk utility-first aid.
Use the original Snow Leopard installation disk and start up the MBP as if you were installing the OSX.
As soon as you see a menu bar on top of the display, click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.
What is the result?
Ciao.
HI. I still have same problem with Mac I did what you told me to do I run the disk utility, verify and repair disk. But still whenever I use the VLC and QUICK TIME player it still hang and even the net is slow right now the spin wheel most of the time appears whenever you want to switch to other tab. Please help
You can backup your user data, erase the HDD, reinstall the OSX and then your user data.
Or bring the MBP in for service.
Ciao.
need help. after i erased the HDD and trying to re-install unfortunately it show that the drive is locked so then i re-start the computer then now it's completely blank but i can't re-install. how to do it.
Are you using the original installation disc?
When you start the MBP with the installation disc, how far do you get. Do you see a menu bar on top of the display?
If so, repeat the process with Disk Utility>First Aid that I described before.
Ciao.
