Can't send or receive SMS Verizon messages on iPad but they come in on my iPhone 5

iPad Air, iOS 8.3

Why don't you try to log on your apple account? This should fix it.

Unless you have the iPad linked with the iPhone, you will never receive SMS messages on an iPad.
