Lines/bars on right-hand side of screen - touch unresponsive

Hi, I've had an iPhone 5 for two years now and I've dropped it many times but it's still championed on. Today however, I dropped it like an idiot for the thousandth time and it ended up giving me five bars going down the right hand side of the screen. As a result, the touch on that side of the screen doesn't work, however I can still see everything and there's no crack so I'm led to believe this is a cable/electrical fault.

I'm not under warranty anymore and I really can't afford to pay £50+ to fix the screen, especially as I'm saving to replace this soon and it's not damaged as such. What's the best way to go about fixing this? Should I take it to the store and see what they say, or can I do something at home to fix it?

Thanks!

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4
