How do I copy the fill color from one cell to another in Numbers?
select the cell with the formatting you want, copy
select the cells where you want to apply the formatting. select the menu item "Edit > Paste and Match Style"

HI Wayne. I only want to copy the fill color not the contents of the cells. This is super easy in Excel but seems impossible in Numbers so I am sure I am missing something. But what?

Via the View > Customize Toolbar menu, I've added these to my toolbar:
They work like the "paintbrush" format painter in Excel. Select the cell(s) with the color, click 'Copy Style', select the cells you want to copy the color to, click 'Paste Style'.
